Terraria sells 1.6M, coming to consoles

This port is mostly useless, unless they give an option for "couch" co-op.

That's what makes console games somewhat better than their PC counterparts. It's one thing playing online, and another for playing beside someone.

Plus, this will probably feature higher definition graphics for HD TVs and has the potential to draw more attention to Terraria.

I keep seeing offers for this game, but I can't seem to pull the trigger. I think it's mostly because I don't understand the gameplay or what the game is about. Based on the hype I may have to give it a try.

Terraria is better then Minecraft anyways.

This is an incredible game. I am hoping the PSN version will be playable on Vita.

So that's why they gave up work on it (maybe). I got it Steam sale, played it for a while, liked the main game, but quit after the boring hard mode came up. Just wasn't fun wandering about the world I'd already totally explored, getting tons of crafting materials, crafting them, then repeating until I had the gear to take on stupidly tough versions of harder bosses.

I bought Terraria for $1.99 on steam during a sale, having no idea what it was, and thinking I really can't go wrong for $1.99. Well the game is easily worth $19.99, it's one of the biggest surprises I've had in years when it comes to games. Very addictive, once you get past the initial learning curve.. (add tutorials!). Minecraft 2D, but with a point, and much more variety.

good to hear it coming to consoles, maybe they can include a better tutorial/introduction, like with Minecraft on the 360.

Hopefully whatever the new features are come to PC as an update. That would be a kick in the balls to all the loyal fans if it doesn't.

I thought the developer flat out left Terraria last year, which is why it hasn't been updated at all.

Guess he came back.. or wants more money.

Terraria is the best game I've played in the last eight years and I can easily say it's my 3rd favorite game of all time! But I just couldn't care less about a console release.

I played it on PC for a bit. trophies might give me incentive to go back to it. the PC version doesn't have achievements. :(

I bought this when it came out, i played for 2 months and now it sits. Hopefully i'll get back into it.

Here's hoping it comes to the Wii U, it would offer a better control scheme than the PS3/Xbox.

Just hope that they can include the option to play with mouse/keyboard or controller like CS:GO.

Grats. This is genuinely a very enjoyable game, whether you play by yourself, with friends, or on public servers (level up and gear up first may be a good idea).

If it helps the devs create more games, more power to them. I already own it, I didn't love it all that much to be honest, but far be it for me to knock others that love it. :P

I only heard about this game when i watched tobuscus play it, but it intrigued me. might have to check it out
