Konami shows off the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game at its press event.

At a recent Konami press event, we had a chance to check out a brief video presentation of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game currently in development for the PlayStation 2 and GameCube. The game will be based on the brand-new cartoon that will start airing on the Fox network this February, and as such, all the characters in the game will be modeled after their cartoon counterparts, complete with what appears to be a cel-shaded look. The game will feature all the turtles, including Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo, as well as various villains in the Ninja Turtle universe, such as Shredder and the Foot Clan.

Unfortunately, the video showcased only a few of the environments and character models, so it's far too early to tell how the game will take shape, but Konami did reveal that it will feature a story mode and a versus option. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle games are also in development for the Game Boy Advance and the PC, and all four versions of the game are scheduled for release in October 2003.
