TDK Mediactive Announces The Haunted Mansion

TDK Mediactive announces a Disney-movie-inspired action adventure game for the PS2, Xbox, GameCube, and GBA.

Last September, TDK Mediactive announced that it had secured the rights to develop games based on the upcoming Disney movie The Haunted Mansion, starring Eddie Murphy. The company has today confirmed that an action adventure game inspired by both the movie and the famous theme-park ride of the same name is currently in development for all current-generation console platforms and the Game Boy Advance.

In the game, you'll have to explore a haunted mansion and, while solving puzzles and uncovering hidden clues, do your best to release the souls of the 999 ghosts that are trapped there before you become one yourself. The PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube versions of the game are currently in development at High Voltage.

Gameplay details on the GBA version of The Haunted Mansion, which is being developed by Pocket Studios, are scarce at present, but TDK Mediactive claims that the game will utilize state-of-the-art 2D and 3D technology never seen on the GBA before. The company also stated that the game will be designed to appeal to both children and adults.

We'll bring you more information on The Haunted Mansion, which is scheduled for release this fall, as soon as it becomes available.
