TDK Interactive has announced that it has secured the rights to the Muppets license, giving the company exclusive rights to develop games based on various Muppet characters, such as Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and Gonzo.

"In celebration of the 25th anniversary of The Muppet Show, we've been expanding the reach of Muppet characters by leaps and bounds this year," said Craig Allen, general manager and senior vice president of Jim Henson Interactive. "The licensing agreement with TDK Mediactive will ensure that high-quality, entertaining Muppet games will be produced for a variety of platforms, giving our fans the world over a true gaming experience that only the Muppets can deliver."

Muppets games are scheduled to appear on the Game Boy Advance, the GameCube, the PlayStation, the PlayStation 2, and the Xbox. No release dates have been announced.
