Take 2 Interactive Software announced it has been granted software publishing and development rights under license from Nintendo of America Inc. for Nintendo 64 and Game Boy systems for the North and South American marketplaces.

Take 2 Interactive Software Europe Ltd., the company's European publishing subsidiary, netted a similar set of rights from Nintendo Company Ltd. of Japan last December.

Take 2 also announced that it is developing its first planned release for the Nintendo 64, In-Fisherman's Bass Hunter 64. That title will come out under Take 2's own publishing label in time for Christmas 1998.

This isn't Take 2's first foray into the world of the Nintendo console market, however. The company recently acquired the distribution rights from Gametek for Wheel of Fortune 64 and Jeopardy! 64, as well as some Game Boy titles.
