Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest showcase is now teasing some sort of "console announcements" that will take place sometime in the near future.

In partnering with Twitch, the Summer Game Fest posted a lengthy blog about some of the news viewers can expect throughout the summer. SGF simply said that some console announcements are coming but is keeping whatever this information is close to its chest for the time being.

Now Playing: Unreal Engine 5 - PlayStation 5 Real-Time Demo

The Summer Game Fest is slated to run from May to August, with several livestreams happening over the course of the next four months. A look at the schedule shows that none of the announced streams have anything to do with the next-generation systems, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Whatever form these console announcements take will be streamed on Summer Game Fest's new Twitch channel.

In addition to some console announcements, SGF will also provide reveals for upcoming 2K games, an exclusive showcase of indie titles from the IGDA (International Game Developers Association), a competitive Valorant livestream featuring streamers from around the world, and more.

GameSpot will be hosting its own summer showcase called Play For All, which starts on June 1.
