Stellar Blade developer Shift Up recently announced an official demo for its upcoming action game on PS5, and it's out now, having been released on March 29 at 7 AM PT / 10 AM ET. You can grab it on PSN right now.

This playable portion of the game takes place at the start of Stellar Blade and includes the tutorial phase to help familiarize players with the basic gameplay mechanics. Additionally, players can explore post-war Eidos 7, a human city infested by the dangerous Naytiba, as they master Eve's abilities.

Like some other PS5 demos, progress will carry through to the full version of Stellar Blade when it launches on April 26. Game director Hyung Tae Kim added that players can expect a "little surprise" after the first stage has been completed. A Stellar Blade demo briefly went live earlier this month, but it was quickly pulled from the PlayStation Network and was disabled for anyone who had already downloaded it.

Originally titled Project Eve when it was first revealed in 2021, Stellar Eve is set in a distant future where Earth has been rendered uninhabitable by the Naytiba and its brood of monsters.

The recent State of Play trailer showed off more gameplay for Stellar Blade, showcasing Eve's arsenal and support squad as she searches for the Elder Naytiba so that the planet can be reclaimed. Eve can arm herself with unique Beta and Burst Skills, allowing her to unleash devastating moves and stylish counterattacks against her enemies.
