SteelSeries Is Releasing A New Special-Edition Gaming Headset This Month
One of the best gaming headsets of all time is getting a Year of the Dragon-themed upgrade.
SteelSeries announced a new version of its Arctis Nova 7 wireless gaming headset featuring an exclusive color scheme themed after the Year of the Dragon, which is the Zodiac sign for the Chinese calendar's upcoming Lunar New Year.
SteelSeries' Arctis Nova line are some of the best gaming headsets available for PC and console, and the Arctis Dragon Nova 7 should be no different. The new version comes with all the features of the standard Nova 7 model, including support for 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth wireless pairing or wired USB-C connections on PC, Mac, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. The headset can even connect and play two audio sources simultaneously--one via 2.4 GHz and the other over Bluetooth. For example, the headset could play gameplay audio from your PC while streaming a podcast from your phone.
The Arctis Nova 7 also sports SteelSeries's "Nova Acoustic System," which combines high-fidelity speakers, 360-Degree Spatial Audio for surround sound, and a ClearCast Gen 2 noise-canceling microphone for voice chat or phone calls. The mic also retracts seamlessly into the earcup when you aren't using it or want to wear the headset like a pair of headphones. PC users can also use the free SteelSeries Sonar Audio Suite desktop app to adjust the audio mix and program their own EQ presets.
The headset uses the same suspended headrest design as other Arctis models, which reduces pressure on your head and makes for a comfortable fit for all head shapes. However, instead of the gray and black of the standard Nova 7, the Dragon model features a dark red color scheme with gold decals on the earcup depicting a dragon floating in Xiángyún clouds, which is a symbol of good luck.
The Arctis Dragon Nova 7 launches for $200 on January 22, just a week before the Year of the Dragon starts on January 28.
If you're interested in the Arctis Nova 7 but aren't partial to the Dragon edition, you can snag the Arctis Nova 7X for only $145 right now at Amazon. The Nova 7X has universal compatibility across Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, PC, and mobile devices.
