Stardew Valley update 1.6 is currently in the works, as announced by the game's creator Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone. While it's unclear what exactly the update will entail, Barone did offer a few nuggets of information via a tweet.

Update 1.6 will include "mostly changes for modders (which will make it easier & more powerful to mod)," Barone said. "But there is also new game content, albeit much less than [update] 1.5." Barone also confirmed update 1.6 will include more character dialogue, in response to a Twitter user's question within the announcement thread.

Along with all this, Barone also mentioned that he's taking a break from developing his new game, Haunted Chocolatier. After Stardew Valley update 1.6 goes live, he'll return to working on the new game.

Haunted Chocolatier will be a sim RPG in which players must run a chocolate shop. Players will make chocolate, interact with NPCs, and ensure the store looks and runs properly. It'll be similar to Stardew Valley in terms of the sim aspects, but with new features such as more expansive combat. The game was announced in October 2021.

It's unclear when Haunted Chocolatier will launch, but at least players can enjoy plenty of Stardew Valley content in the meantime.
