505 Games will publish the game, which tells the story of two sons journeying to find the "Water of Life," the only cure for their dying father's disease. "One must be strong where the other is weak, brave where the other is fearful," reads a line from the game's announcement.

Fares, a Swede, is most notable for his award-winning films Zozo (2005) and Leo (2007). The first of those films won the Nordic Council Film Prize in 2006, while the latter was a Forum selection at the 58th Berlin International Film Festival.

Starbreeze recently hired former Battlefield 3 lead designer David Goldfarb and acquired Payday: The Heist developer Overkill Software.
