Star Wars Shows The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, And Andor Being Added To Disney's Star Tours Ride

The galaxy far, far away is ever-expanding, and updating iconic theme park rides is a priority.

The first Star Tours ride debuted after the original trilogy had ended in 1987, giving fans a chance to live out an adventure with C-3P0 and R2-D2. The sequel ride called Star Tours - The Adventure Continues was introduced in 2011, with updated graphics and characters.

Starting this April at both Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Disney World, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue will introduce a new destination and characters from the recent Disney+ series Andor and The Mandalorian. Ahsoka was announced last year as being introduced to the parks alongside the release of her solo series.

"During their flight, guests may encounter urgent transmissions from Ahsoka Tano, Cassian Andor, or Din Djarin and Grogu," Disney said in a statement. "With these additions, guests now have an opportunity to experience one of more than 250 storyline variations aboard the attraction, including a visit to the planet Peridea from the Ahsoka series."

The first additions to the ride came in 2015 with Jakku in anticipation of The Force Awakens. Then came Crait and Batuu from The Last Jedi in 2017. This is the first update to the ride in five years with ocean moon Kef Bir from The Rise of Skywalker being added to the ride on December 20, 2019, to coincide with the film's release date.

This update could be the first of many in line as Andor Season 2, The Mandalorian movie, and the Rey Skywalker movie are all in the works, ever expanding the Star Wars universe.
