On this beautiful May 4--otherwise known as Star Wars Day (May the Fourth be with you? Get it?)--we're thankful for all we know about Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. Even if that's precious little, including the return of Emperor Palpatine. What do you want most from Episode 9? The movie hits theaters December 19, but in the meantime, let us know in the comments below.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has received a first trailer that shed a lot of light on the story and direction for this final installment in the Skywalker Saga, but one character is still shrouded in mystery. The panel at Star Wars Celebration took a moment to highlight British actress Naomi Ackie, who shared some of the first details about her character.

The character is named Jannah, Ackie mentioned that she crosses paths with the rest of the protagonists. They're said to be on an adventure together. JJ Abrams indicated that the gang regroups to take on the greatest evil in the galaxy--with a strong implication that Palpatine's return is that evil--but we're not sure yet how Jannah figures into it.

Ackie also addressed the rumors that she would be playing Lando's daughter. Sort of. Asked about the suggestion, she declined to give a straight answer, but did say, "Lando is a very charming man, he could have children all over the universe."

Lando Calrissian himself, Billy Dee Williams, also appeared on stage accompanied by an image of his character's return. He had his own interview moments on the panel, including one in which he defended Lando's shady decision-making in Empire Strikes Back. Ultimately, he says, it's okay because nobody died.

The panel also revealed a title, The Rise of Skywalker, and the first teaser-trailer for the upcoming film. It also teased the return of the Emperor Palpatine. Check out everything coming out of Star Wars Celebration, including news on Jedi Fallen Order and the Star Wars offerings coming in Disney's upcoming subscription service, Disney+.
