Battlefront designer director Niklas Fegraeus shared the morsel of news on the game's website. He went on to tease that DICE has "great plans for E3" overall.

At the Star Wars Celebration in April, DICE showed off a Battlefront gameplay demo behind closed doors. E3 next month will be the first time, provided there are no leaks, that the public gets to see the game in action.

All that's been released publicly to date is a flashy CG trailer. It was quite impressive, but there was no actual gameplay on display.

Also in the blog post, Fegraeus revealed a new Battlefront mode called Squadron Fighter. In this mode, players will "engage in huge Starfighter battles over canyons big enough to be truly epic." The game won't have space battles, however.

Battlefront launches November 17 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Those who preorder will receive access to the free Battle of Jakku expansion on December 1, while everyone else will get to play it on December 7. This content is themed around upcoming movie Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens.

GameSpot will be on the ground in full force at E3, bringing you all the news as it's announced.
