Reddit user TheeUberMedic "did some digging" into the game's program files and discovered a file called "characters.cb." There, references to Han Solo, Princess Leia, and the Emperor were found. These are in addition to Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Boba Fett, each of which was already announced.

For its part, EA has said Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Boba Fett are "just some" of the Heroes and Villains that will be included in the game. Given how iconic Han Solo, Princess Leia, and the Emperor are in the Star Wars universe, that they would be included in Battlefront would come as little surprise.

Heroes and Villains are special Battlefront characters that players unlock through a powerup found on the map. They have super-abilities that make them formidable foes on the battlefield. Check out GameSpot's video preview below to learn more.

TheUberMedic also says he found another file that references something called "Hero Battle," which sounds like a gameplay mode involving the game's Hero characters. He also claims to have discovered a directory of weapons and vehicles, which he will publish later.

The Star Wars Battlefront beta starts today, October 8, on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, and runs through October 12. The PC edition can be pre-loaded through Origin right now, while the console versions will be ready to download later.

Battlefront launches on November 17, about a month before Disney's Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens hits theaters in December. EA is also releasing tie-in DLC for Battlefront based on the movie.
