Space Camp touching down on Wii, DS
Activision launching kid-friendly minigame compilations for Nintendo's platforms this June.
Last year, NASA revealed it would be shooting for the stars with a massively multiplayer online game aimed at kids with an interest in space exploration. It would appear as if Activision, too, has an interest in helping kids explore the vagaries of the final frontier. The company announced today that Space Camp will be available for the Nintendo Wii and DS this June.
Possibly taking its cues from Ron Howard's Apollo 13, Space Camp tells the story of astronauts who become stranded in space during a voyage to the moon. To get home, players must complete "a series of futuristic, furiously fun missions." Said missions include scientific experiments, interstellar navigation, and, of course, alien invasions, with players finding aid from their very own robots.
Both editions of Space Camp will make use of their respective system's unique control schemes. The Wii game will also come with a variety of multiplayer options, including a two-player cooperative mode and a four-player party mode.
