Sony Shows Off Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Multiplayer
The gang's all here.
Naughty Dog took the stage at Sony's Paris Games Week conference today to give a closer look at Uncharted 4: A Thief's End multiplayer.
Although no actual gameplay was shown, the footage did appear to be using Uncharted 4's engine. Naughty Dog co-president Christophe Balestra gave a brief summary of the several classes available, as well as some of the supernatural abilities--called Mysticals--involved in the competitive combat. Players will also have access to sidekicks, which are AI teammates that can be summoned in tough situations.
The footage showed a variety of the series' iconic characters fighting through several environments, from jungle ruins to urban alleyways. Protagonist Nathan Drake, mentor Victor Sullivan, journalist Elena Fisher, and thief Chloe Frazer all made appearances, wielding a variety of weapons and abilities.
Toward the end of the footage, Drake threw what looked like the El Dorado sarcophagus from Uncharted: Drake's Fortune into a crowd of enemy players. It then did area damage to surrounding enemies, implying Naughty Dog will be making good use of the franchise's supernatural elements across multiplayer modes.
