Sony Launches The Last Of Us Podcast; Here's Where To Listen
The official podcast will focus on the first game before moving onto the sequel next month.
If you've been looking for a new way to re-experience The Last of Us before its sequel launches on June 19, Sony and Naughty Dog have launched a limited-series podcast that delves deep into the themes of both games.
The series starts with a focus on 2013's The Last of Us, with episodes hosted by writer and comedian Christian Spicer. He's joined by voice actors Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, who play Joel and Ellie respectively, as well as game director Neil Druckmann to break down the opening hours of the first game that set the tone for the series. You can listen to the first episode of The Last of Us podcast on most podcast platforms, including iTunes and Spotify.
New episodes will be released weekly every Tuesday, with eight total episodes planned. On July 7, the fifth episode, the show will shift focus to The Last of Us Part II, giving you ample time to play and follow along with the conversation without fear of spoilers. Other episodes will also include rotating guests, from actors Laura Bailey and Jeffery Pierce, to composer Gustavo Santaolalla.
It's unclear what Naughty Dog has planned for the future, with The Last of Us Part II director Neil Druckmann saying he hasn't decided yet on another sequel or a new IP. It'll likely be some time before Naughty Dog reveals those plans too, but you can rest assured that The Last of Us Part II will keep you company even after the PS5 launches, with Sony confirming it will work on their next-gen console.
