Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 co-developer Sledgehammer Games is reported to be bulking up the size of its development team as it works on a new Call of Duty title for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Positions available, as advertised on LinkedIn (via CVG), include a multiplayer designer, concept artist, and senior animator. Various listings say the team is working on a "next-gen" Call of Duty game, which presumably means the PS4 and Xbox One unless Sony and Microsoft have a particularly cruel trick up their sleeves.

Activision has already confirmed a new Call of Duty game for 2014, and Sledgehammer has been hiring for its upcoming project for a while--in 2012 the studio said it was looking for 'hyper-realism' in the game.

Sledgehammer Games was founded in 2009, with the original intention of working on a third-person Call of Duty spin-off. The team cancelled that project to help Infinity Ward with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 after the high-profile departure of Vince Zampella and Jason West from the franchise's founding studio.

Infinity Ward helmed last year's Call of Duty: Ghosts, so could Sledgehammer Games be in charge of whatever game will inevitably be released this November?
