Sierra's Family-Friendly Games

Blood-free games flood the channel - here's Sierra's Casual lineup.

Comments

Sierra has unveiled its fall lineup of "Casual Entertainment" titles, what Sierra describes as "nonviolent games that... provide hours of fun and entertainment: trivia, board and card games, pinball, and other familiar favorites" (read: games designed to appeal to non-hard-core gamers).

That lineup is set to include:

Hoyle Casino, with a hundred or more variations of casino games - blackjack, craps, roulette, poker, slots, video poker, Keno, and Pai Gow Poker - set in a Las Vegas environment

Hoyle Board Games, which lets players choose animated characters such as Roswell the alien or "your Jurassic buddy" Marvin the T-rex as their opponents for rounds of Battling Ships, pachisi, backgammon, and other board games

Hoyle Card Games, with 14 games of this sort, including gin rummy, Crazy 8s, and pinochle

Sierra's Complete Chess, which will feature tutorials by Maurice Ashley, game analysis tools, and a 50,000-game database

HeadRush, a pop culture trivia game designed for teens

You Don't Know Jack The Ride, the fourth volume in the irreverent quiz show series

You Don't Know Jack, for the PlayStation console

After Dark Games, based on the screen saver series, with games such as the arcade game Flying Toaster Fun, the word game Bad Dog, or the puzzle game Roof Rats

3D Ultra NASCAR Pinball, which lets gamers play as one of four NASCAR drivers (because you know NASCAR drivers are always the best pinball players), where pinball skills help players tune a car "to perfection," race that car, and make pit stops

3D Ultra MiniGolf Deluxe, a miniature golf sim, which will feature multiplayer support.
