Electronic Arts has announced the release of Sid Meier's SimGolf, the golf-resort management game created by Sid Meier, the creator of the Civilization turn-based strategy game series, and Will Wright, the creator of the SimCity series and The Sims. The game lets players design, build, and manage their own golf resort. The goal of the game is to build their business from a small public course to a complete five-star resort featuring world-class courses, professional tournaments, and high-class hotels. The game features several different environments ranging from arid desert to tropical forests, and players can customize their resort in a variety of ways.

"I'm thrilled with SimGolf. In all my years of making games, SimGolf has been the most fun to create," Meier said. "In SimGolf we allow players to create their own paths and to choose their own style of play. You can build an endless variety of courses, customize your golfers, create a world-class pro, play your course, and hold tournaments at your resort. We hope gamers around the world will have as much fun playing SimGolf as we did making it."

Sid Meier's SimGolf is now available in stores for an approximate retail price of $39.99. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game and look for our full review of the game coming soon.
