Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon Will Let You Take A Dig At Your Ex This Valentine's Day

Get back at your worst break-up with shovelry!

If you've recently ended a long-term relationship and are looking for a unique way to get those awful feelings out of your system, take note: A knight in shining armor--armed with a shining shovel--is here to help this Valentine's Day with the Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon Valentine Ex-Travaganza in-game event.

Those who won Pocket Dungeon on Steam will be able to take part in the one-day event, which will add the names of ex-lovers submitted via an online form--first names eligible only--between now and February 13 to enemy Beetos throughout the game. Then, on February 14, everyone who downloads the Puzzler’s Pack DLC Early Preview update for free will see the nefarious names ready to be squashed.

Names will be pulled from the list randomly using the same procedural generation technique as the game itself, so the opposing Beeto's name will change with every new adventure. The event is only scheduled to last one day, with the names being disabled on February 15.

Despite receiving this new update, Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon is not Shovel Knight's latest adventure; Shovel Knight Dig launched last September for Nintendo Switch and Apple Arcade. Where Pocket Dungeon follows a more puzzle-based approach, Dig sees Shovel Knight battle through procedurally generated underground levels in an attempt to defeat Drill Knight and his crew.

Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon is available now on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. The Squash Your Ex event, however, is exclusive to the Steam version of the game.
