GameSpot's Exclusive Interview with 50 Cent

The video game industry has begun to attract some considerable star power from film and music. The latest and best example is Vivendi Universal's upcoming 50 Cent: Bulletproof, an action game featuring hip-hop titan 50 Cent. You won't find a bigger artist around today, as his record sales have made him a juggernaut who currently rules the music charts. But does that success translate into great games? To find out, we caught up with 50 and his crew as they passed through San Jose, a stop on their Anger Management tour, and talked to the man himself, his crew, and his game's producer in an exclusive interview, conducted by GameSpot's executive producer Ryan Mac Donald.

The Developer Interview

How do you bring the vision of a first-time game developer to life? If you're Vivendi Universal, and if the first-timer is 50 Cent, you throw some muscle behind it. Producer Andre Emerson, an industry vet who was responsible for the original Dead to Rights, knows a thing or two about crafting a quality game. And as a result, he was tapped to be the caretaker of 50's vision for Bulletproof. So check out our interview to learn more about the game.

The G-Unit Interview
No Caption Provided
Any rapper worth his name has a posse, and G-Unit is 50 Cent's. The group includes a few of 50's friends: Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, and Young Buck, who joined G-Unit as a replacement for Yayo when he was sentenced to prison in 2002 on a gun possession charge. Yayo is now back with G-Unit after being released in early 2004. G-Unit has collectively worked with other acclaimed producers, including Dr. Dre and Eminem, and the group has its own album, Beg for Mercy, which was created independently of 50. This interview includes their perspectives on 50, themselves, and what it's like to be on tour.
