Sonnetech Ltd. announced Monday that its 3Deep technology now supports 3Dfx's Glide application programming interface (API).

3Deep is Sonnetech's solution for accurate lighting and shading for three-dimensional products, like computer games, and was developed in collaboration with Microsoft. This technology will now be available for 3Dfx Voodoo developers.

"Today's hottest game titles are designed to take advantage of the high-performance features offered by 3Dfx Voodoo accelerators via the popular Glide API," said Scott Sellers, senior vice president of product development at 3Dfx Interactive. "Connecting Glide with the 3Deep Gamma calibration assures that developers will consistently achieve industry-leading performance and the highest possible image quality."

"3Deep provides the gamer with the ability to see the detailed renderings of today's 3D games," said Peter Bernard, director of Sonnetech product management. "Without 3Deep there is a wide variation of lighting and shading display quality across video boards and displays."
