Shazam! Fury Of The God's Second Trailer Ups The Ante With Helen Mirren And A Drake Remix

The Shazam family is back for another outing soon after the film's initial delay.

Warner Bros. has given us another look at Shazam! Fury of the Gods ahead of its postponed March 17 release date and it has… a trailer-specific remix of Drake's Started From the Bottom.

Shazam! Fury Of The Gods was initially meant to come out last month, though did suffer from a delay to March, and now with this second trailer we have more of an idea of what to expect from the sequel. While the first trailer offered some of that familiar goofy aloofness from the first film, this second trailer has upped the drama factor a touch.

For one, it seems like Freddy Freeman is being taken out of the running, as Hespera (Helen Mirren) uses a magic stick of some kind to take his power. Hespera is joined by Kalypso, dubbed the sisters of Atlas, who aren't very happy that the Shazam family have supposedly taken their god-like powers. The second trailer does make it seem like a number of the kids lose their powers, though Freddy seems like the big one to lose out.

Past this film though, it's unclear what the future of Shazam as a series might be. Back in October it was confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn would be taking over as co-lead of DC Studios, and subsequently making some slightly surprising choices. A number of rumors have come about since the news that Henry Caville would no longer be Superman, but Gunn has shot pretty much all of them down. Gunn also recently had to clarify that the decision to end Doom Patrol came before he joined, so it's clear that until some definitive news comes out with future DCEU films, things will be a little messy.
