The Game Awards, which presents accolades to the developers behind some of the most acclaimed games of the year, is due to air on Thursday at 6 PM PST (GameSpot will host a livestream). Spliced within the ceremony will be a series of trailers for new projects in development, with host Geoff Keighley claiming that ten "world premieres" will air on the night.
Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn is a reboot of the original 16-Bit fighting game which in the two decades since has gathered a mild cult following. In May last year, O'Neal launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for the remaster project, and managed to amass $458,000 in funding.
The original game, which shipped in 1994, was panned by critics upon release, to the extent that the reboot's developer, Big Deez Productions, has asserted that "this time we won't f*** it up."
According to the terms of the Indiegogo campaign, A Legend Reborn will ship on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Wii U.
