Shadow Warrior 3 Gets Current-Gen Versions And Much More February 16

The definitive edition of the FPS adds new modes and visual upgrades.

On February 16, Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition will makes its debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The bloody FPS previously launched on PC, PS4, and Xbox One almost a year ago.

This updated version of Shadow Warrior 3--which is a free upgrade for existing owners--will sport a host of new things: a Survival mode, arenas, and weapon skins. This edition will also introduce a New Game Plus mode, hardcore difficulty, and two visual options (60 frames-per-second performance or 4K visual).

Shadow Warrior 3 originally released March 1, 2022. This time, series protagonist Lo Wang teams up with his old adversary, the ex-billionaire Orochi Zilla. They need to save the world from a demon-filled apocalypse that Wang may have accidentally started.

Polish studio Flying Wild Hog is the developer behind Shadow Warrior 3, with Devolver Digital publishing the game. Flying Wild Hog has been behind the previous two games in the FPS franchise too. But the series actually started in 1997 with developer 3D Realms. THQ Nordic's parent company, Embracer Group, acquired Flying Wild Hog back in 2020, along with 12 other studios.

GameSpot sister site Metacritic has Shadow Warrior 3 with a 71 score from 59 critic reviews.
