Settling in for the Summer
With Diablo II on top and The Sims not far behind, most summer releases have been blown off the PC Data top ten.
Over the last few weeks we've seen all but one of this summer's new games drop out of the top ten. While Diablo II remained strong at number one, the rest of the top five is composed of games that have been hovering at or near number one for the last six months. Unreal Tournament is the new face on the list for the week of July 30 to August 5. The game scratched its way back into the top ten, where it had been a familiar sight at the beginning of the year. It's notable that five of the games on the list have average selling prices of US$26 or less, showing the power that value pricing has for bolstering sales.
