It's not just cash, it's CyberCash.

Comments

SegaSoft has selected the CyberCash CyberCoin online payment system for Heat, SegaSoft's online gaming network set to launch in September. The payment system will be used by members to purchase games, music CDs, and other merchandise throughout the service.

Using the CyberCoin service, customers can purchase items costing anywhere from $0.25 and up using a credit card or checking account.

There are no fees or charges for using CyberCoin, and funds in the CyberCoin system are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

SegaSoft also plans to sell power-ups that may be used in the multiplayer games on Heat.

Using a technology dubbed Transactor, games developed for play on the Heat network can swap out individual items, such as characters, weapons, or power-ups, letting players purchase, trade, or win new items.
