Halo 5's New Expansion Content Detailed

[UPDATE] During the stream, 343 showed off the full Req lineup for Hammer Storm, which includes the Halo: Combat Evolved Magnum. Additionally, the developer confirmed the free expansion will arrive before the weekend.

The studio also teased what would be part of the next content update, with a brief glimpse of what looked like a new skin for the Mantis.

343 Industries will hold a livestream event later today during which it will showcase the new content coming to Halo 5: Guardians in the upcoming Hammer Storm free update. The event starts at 3 PM PST / 6 PM EST today, and you'll be able to watch the entire broadcast through the Twitch embed below.

The expansion includes a new map for Arena called Torque, as well as new gametypes like Fiesta, Assault, and the fan-favorite Grifball. Players can also expect a variety of new Reqs, including the Gravity Hammer. Additionally, the new Decimator and Marauder armor sets come to the game with the update.

Hammer Storm is Halo 5's fourth free update since the game launched in October 2015. The other three were Battle of Shadow and Light (November 2015), The Cartographer's Gift (December 2015), and Infinity's Armory (January 2016). 343 has pledged to continually support Halo 5 with new free content through at least June 2016.
