SCEE to launch Aqua PS2

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has today announced that it will launch a limited edition Aqua color PlayStation 2 console across all PAL territories early next month. The console will ship with a matching controller. Furthermore, Aqua vertical stands and memory cards will also be available.

"We introduced our Silver Prestige Line PlayStation 2 before Christmas," said David Reeves, president and COO of SCEE. "It proved to be so successful that it was a natural extension to include one other color to complement the range, and this new limited edition Aqua PlayStation 2 seemed just right for Europe in the springtime."

The limited edition Aqua PS2 console will sell for 199.99 euros or £139.99 ($258), and it will almost certainly fetch a lot more than this in online auctions once stocks run out. The exact release date for the console has not been announced at this time.
