Ryan Reynolds Revives Iconic The Office Prank To Promote New Movie

"You're not John Krasinski."

Deadpool 3 star Ryan Reynolds will star in a new film from The Quiet Place director John Krasinski before returning as the Merc with a Mouth. But he seems to be a bit perplexed by John's appearance in a new promo for the family friendly flick If.

That's because WandaVision actor Randall Park is portraying John in a nod to a classic Jim Halpert prank from The Office. In Season 9 of the popular comedy series, a joke called "Asian Jim" sees Park's guest character tricking co-worker Dwight that he is in fact Jim Halpert. For this If promotion, Park is acting as Krasinski to deceive Reynolds, which he shared on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Reynolds even revives one of the classic quotes from The Office bit with a twist. Instead of saying, "You're not Jim," Reynold says, "You're not John Krasinski." This leads to a humorous montage of Park working behind the scenes on the movie If.

A couple of years ago, Park admitted that he forgot he was even on The Office. The actor told Conan O'Brien how he thought random people were being racist by calling him, "Asian Jim."

If revolves around imaginary friends, and Reynolds describes it as "something that feels a bit like a live-action Pixar film." Along with directing, Krasinski also wrote the movie. He's also reteaming with his Office star Steve Carell, who voices a character named Blue. If also stars Cailey Fleming, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Emily Blunt, and Matt Damon, among others.

If will get a sneak peak at the Super Bowl and then premiere in theaters in May 17.
