"[Crystal Dynamics] is celebrating with all Tomb Raider fans, thanking them for being on Lara's 20 year journey with us," said Scot Amos, co-head of the studio. "The team has packed in surprises, new story, and the top-requested special features into this 20 Year Celebration edition.

"Blood Ties, a new premium DLC, beckons players to explore Croft Manor in a new story mode; then defend it against a zombie invasion in Lara's Nightmare. When Lara's uncle contests ownership of the Manor, Lara must explore the estate to find proof that she is the rightful heir, or lose her birthright and father's secrets for good.

"Players can then test their zombie-killing skills in the replayable Lara's Nightmare mode: a haunted Croft Manor where players have new challenges and must rid the Manor of an evil presence."

According to a press release, the PlayStation VR support lets players "unlock the mysteries of Croft Manor in first-person, while the new co-op Endurance mode lets fans team-up in the wilderness.

"Two players must team up to survive the harsh elements by day, as well as lethal threats from enemies by night. Fire takes fuel, food restores health, and every resource must be hunted, collected, or crafted. Battle to the top of the leaderboards, as others try to beat your longest survival run."

To celebrate the history of Tomb Raider, a re-envisoned version of the cold-weather outfit and the Hailstorm pistol Lara used in Tomb Raider 3 will be available in the mode. A classic Lara card pack will let players play as various iterations of the character from over the years, including the original Lara model that started it all in 1996.

Finally, the game will have a new Extreme Survivor difficulty: "This new difficulty level takes the toughness of Survivor and ratchets it up several notches starting with all checkpoints being stripped out of the game. The only way to save the game is forage enough resources to light campfires."

Take a look at the infographic below to see everything included in the Rise of the Tomb Raider 20 Year Celebration release.

Yeah right??? 20 Year Celebration Tomb Raider fans. A year of fullgame timed exclusivity bitterness is nothing to Celebrate about. I know I will never buy Rise Of The Tomb Raider at any price, I wouldn't play the game even if Square Enix gave the game away for free. Square Enix should pay for knowingly pissing gamers off with the timed fullgame exclusive deal with Microsoft, if gamers buy Rise Of The Tomb Raider there is no lesson learned, Square Enix is now showing PlayStation 4 owners a little love by included DLC, extra outfits, weapons is too little too late, in the hope all is forgiven is too late, the timed exclusivity should have not been made in the first place, and Square Enix was well aware of the consequences of making such a deal, Square Enix showed no love for the gamer and gamers should return no love for their published games.

I love third person games and this will be one I will add to my collection. Just wish it would have been available a year ago.

Yeah, I might rent it from Gamefly some day after it comes out. Ain't giving Squenix my money though, they dropped the ball on how they handled this game.

So, did anyone actually buy a $30 season pass for this game? It has, what, one story DLC so far for $10?

Sorry, I've already forgotten about this game. Seen all the youtube videos a year ago. If it's $20 I might think about getting it. There's just other games I've set aside money for in the limelight now.

For me one year of bitterness is not going to make me buy Rise Of The Tomb Raider. To me it's just NOT ENOUGH. Square Enix the GREEDY publisher deserves to be punished for their crime of putting gamers second to huge corporations like Microsoft and Nvidia, and PlayStation 4 owners have to wait a year so Microsoft can have a competition advantage over Sony. The timed fullgame exclusivity it didn't have to be that way. The fullgame timed exclusive was the biggest moment of stupidity of all time. And now Square Enix is sugar coating Rise Of The Tomb Raider in the hope that the game sales better on the PlayStation 4. I WILL NEVER BUY RISE OF THE TOMB RAIDER. Because of the timed fullgame Exclusive deal with MS I will not support Square Enix, they are DEAD to me.

@90wushuman: Actually, you won't need to purchase anything if you already own the base game and season pass. All new content from the PS4 version will be added to the PC and Xbox versions at no additional charge, with the exception of the VR component.

I really dug Rise of the Tomb Raider. I was kind of disappointed though. It started off really well. It seemed to patch my main gripes with the reboot. More emphasis on exploration. More puzzles. Basically more like the original TR's on the PSone. But.. some 5 hours later it just turned into Rise of the Uncharted. Actually, Uncharted 4 had way more puzzles and exploration than RotTR did. Not to say that it's a bad game, because it isn't by a long stretch. In fact it's great. 8.5 out of 10 for me. It's just that if you're hoping the game will be more like the original, you will be sorely disappointed.

By the way I played it on PC. I don't own an Xbox. Just a PS4 and gaming PC. It's absolutely worth the purchase. Stop being so salty PS4 fanboys. You now have one more excellent game in your library.

@Rushaoz: Funny you should mention Uncharted having way more puzzles. The main story, granted has few puzzles, but they are more complicated than UC4's turn a knob a few times puzzles. If you explore and seek out the extra tombs (of which there are many) then you'll have even more puzzles to solve, tombs to raid, and some great bonuses to your stats as well. You're lauding the game and I don't want to seem argumentative, but, UC4 almost ditched the puzzle aspect altogether (they're all too easy and barely fall under 'puzzle category' in favour of narrative, set pieces, and some cool battles. So, UC2 fans in particular will find a lot to love in ROTTR in my opinion. For the rest, yes, totally worth owning and playing both franchises.

@consolehaven: Too bad, if it wasn't for the timed exclusive deal Square Enix made with Microsoft to exclude gamers from playing the game I would have owned both. and I find myself that I can't give Rise Of The Tomb Raider any love because the deal Square Enix made with Microsoft to shutout gamers. I do not support such business practices even if it's for a limited time. Rise Of The Tomb Raider will be the only Tomb Raider game I am not buying, and this is coming form a Tomb Raider and Uncharted fan.

@rebfaction: You can boycott the game, sure, but I don't think this will have the effect you think it will. Not only will a boycott on the PS4 version out of spite probably mean the end of the franchise as we know it, the message sent to devs will be don't take risks on big, deep, expensive games.

AAA games are expensive to make and by all indications Square was reluctant to even consider making a sequel, despite the first game selling 3 million copies and going on the sell 7 million! The higher ups at Square and Crystal Dynamics of course understand it was the wrong move to make (what with PS4 outpacing X1 by a much larger margin than either one anticipated) and they should have had more faith in the franchise, the team making the game, and the fans. But that was long after the ink had dried on the deal with MS.

All this to say, if gamers boycott deals like these, that allow for certain games to be made the way they are with fewer compromises, then you can bet they'll go the way of the dinosaurs, and business models like EA's will become the norm. If you like the franchise, ROTTR is equal to if not better than TR in almost every way, and I really recommend owning and playing it.

@consolehaven: It's not out of spite. My reason for not buying Rise Of The Tomb Raider is deeper emotional slap in the face. Tomb Raider reboot and Tomb Raider definitive edition sold more copies on the PlayStation game system and the sequel would be exclusive to the Xbox? and there is no announcement release date for the PlayStation 3 version.

I am not going to buy Rise Of The Tomb Raider as if the say Timed fullgame Exclusives are fine and that third party timed exclusives deals should be made all the time. It's not if it wasn't for the deal Square Enix made with Microsoft Rise Of The Tomb Raider would not have been made. At the time of the exclusivity announcement Tomb Raider sold 7.5 million copies more than enough money to make Rise Of The Tomb Raider.

The deal was for Microsoft to have a competition advantage over Sony, and Microsoft paid Square Enix for the right to get the game first on the Xbox, and Square Enix agreed to it knowing that the deal would have negative reaction by gamers.

Square Enix makes a deal with Microsoft and Nvidia so Square Enix is the WINNER, and any money they make by Rise Of The Tomb Raider sales is profit, so I don't think by not buying Rise Of The Tomb Raider it will be the end of the franchise. By not buying Rise Of The Tomb Raider sends a loud and clear message to video game publishers to think about not making timed fullgame exclusive deals and to console holders stop paying for timed fullgame exclusives.

For Square Enix to go with the timed fullgame exclusive anyway they have knowingly hurt gamres and the game, knowing very well of the consequences making the deal with Microsoft. Rise Of The Tomb Raider would have been one of the top ten selling game if it wasn't for the timed exclusive, if gamers buy Rise Of The Tomb Raider anyway there are no lessons to be learned.

@Rushaoz: Watchdogs was ok on PC but they ruined it with a stupid driving model that made you want to run everywhere instead of drive. It was still interesting taking out enemies using cameras etc though.

Plus i waited until it was less than $10 on PC with all the DLC.

people here.. you heard of tubers getting paid tens of thousands of dollars to promote a game and lie about how they love it? do you think it make sense some people in message boards saying how hype he or she in pre-ordering a new game? so it's entirely possible that many so called "fanboys" are actually paid to hype things up in forums and social media. believe it.

@archav3n: It's possible, but time consuming. Especially in this kind of forum setting. Your comment is only at the top for so long, and the reach is so small. I for one have played and finished the game twice and still love it. It can take like 12-14 hours if you play straight through, but you'll be doing a lot of combat as the exploration and combat aren't meshed together as much like in the Reboot. A few battles are imbalanced and overly hard. The exploration and side quests do boost your stats nicely and presents some interesting challenges and puzzles. I guess Crystal Dynamics really wanted to separate the two and let you wander and explore with very little combat when you do.
