Forza Horizon 5 is speeding toward release, and Playground Games has once again crafted an open world bursting with vistas to explore and hot cars to race through the landscape. This time the Horizon Festival goes to Mexico, which offers a wide variety of cityscapes and serene countrysides to burn your way through. Forza Horizon 5 releases widely on November 9, but early access purchasers can start racing on November 5. Game Pass members have it included with their subscription and can play it starting November 9.

Ahead of release, reviews have started to gear up. In our own Forza Horizon 5 review, Alessandro Barbosa said this game shows thoughtful iteration on the Forza series with a more personal campaign. While it's unlikely to win over those who already decided the Forza series is not for them, it builds on what came before to make for a great experience.

GameSpot - 9/10

"Even when it is familiar, Forza Horizon 5 makes small, but thoughtful changes to its established blueprint that hones in on the people behind the cars in a way that the franchise has previously just glossed over. Its alterations to progression are welcome, too, letting you focus on the events that you love while also giving you even more event types to make effective use of the varied and fun map that has been designed around Mexico's best hits. It's not going to convince you to give it a go if Forza Horizon's brand of racing hasn't done it for you in the past, but Forza Horizon 5 still stands head and shoulders above anything else in the genre." -- Alessandro Barbosa [Full review]

The Gamer - 5/5

"Collectively, Forza Horizon 5 does everything right, and in doing so makes Playground Games’ latest entry into the Forza franchise an absolute must-play for any racing enthusiast or casual racing fan." -- Sam Watanuki [Full review]

GamesRadar - 5/5

"The expansive new setting of Mexico really does have so much to offer, and longtime players and newcomers alike are sure to have a blast discovering everything you can get stuck into. I've lost count of the number of races I sped my way through that I immediately wanted to experience all over again. As another fantastic entry in what is already a very strong series, Playground Games delivers impeccably detailed graphics, stellar audio design, and smooth controls that all work together to make Forza Horizon 5 an utter joy to play. I'm already itching to get right back into the driver's seat." -- Heather Wald [Full review]

IGN - 10/10

"It looks beautiful, it sounds magnificent, and it is glorious to play. Yes, Forza Horizon 5 is a lot of things. Above all, however, it is the result of a racing studio at the peak of its craft and the best open-world racing game I’ve ever played." -- Luke Reilly [Full review]

Game Informer - 9.5/10

"At every turn, Forza Horizon 5 impresses in ways few games have. From the first mile, I was on the edge of my seat. With so much to do in such a relentlessly gorgeous world, I suspect it won’t be long before I get the itch to jump back into the driver’s seat of my favorite car. Even amidst a competitive racing field, Forza Horizon 5 is a finely tuned supercar." -- Brian Shea [Full review]

Destructoid - 8.5/10

"There is just so much to do and so much to see that I can easily lose hours of my day exploring all it has to offer. And with continued support from the developers and community, I’ll have no reason to stop playing anytime soon." -- CJ Andriessen [Full review]

GamesBeat - 4/5

"Maybe this will be my first step into becoming a true racing sim fanatic when the eight Forza Motorspot comes out. Or maybe I’ll retreat back to my PlayStation for some more Ridge Racer Type 4. OK, that is probably still what’s going to happen." -- Mike Minotti [Full review]
