Return to Monkey Island Releasing On International Talk Like A Pirate Day
The adventure series revival from Ron Gilbert is coming on September 19, which not coincidentally, is when all your friends shout "Arr" at you.
Return to Monkey Island, the revival of the classic adventure series, is releasing on PC and Nintendo Switch on September 19. That date has some special significance, as it also falls on the quasi-holiday International Talk Like A Pirate Day. You know, when all your friends say "Arr!" once or twice and chuckle and then everyone forgets to carry the bit through the rest of the day.
In a brief trailer at Gamescom Opening Night Live, Stan from Marketing narrated his way through some settings and showed off the environments and characters. The trailer also announced that you can preorder to get Horse Armor, an item in your inventory that apparently has no practical use whatsoever.
Series creator Ron Gilbert is returning to direct Return to Monkey Island, and will continue the story as left off by Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge. It's planned for PC and will be a console launch exclusive on Nintendo Switch.
