Report: GTAIV 'poised' to make $400M in one week

Am I the only one worried that this game might be delayed again but this time for a politically non legit reason? pay attention we might not even be playing this anytime soon...if this release gets delayed there's no telling what ill do..this could get bad

any news when this will come out on PC?

i told my dad to buy 200 shares of take wo interactive.

Whatever the case I know that which console is selling more will be the last thing on mind come the morning of the 29th.

I just can't wait until this game comes out. I really hope they hold out until the release date because if they have to push it back then I'm going to be really pissed off!

With 6 million more consoles in homes than the PS3 has, it's pretty safe to assume this will work in favor of the 360 version (not that it really matters. I'm sure Take-Two doesn't care which version sells.) That being said, I would have assumed DMC4 would have sold more on the 360 for the same reason, but it looks like the PS3 version is selling better, and even Burnout's sales are pretty close.

who cares, sales dont mean anything to me, except a GTA 5 in the future, other than that, i couldnt give a damn... im going to buy it, and most likely from what ive seen so far love it!!!! and live it... damn i cant wait!! and for the record, i bought and finished halo3 in a couple days, have not played it since, except online once and wasnt impressed with that either, not even that memorable, whatever, over hyped... i pray GTA 4 isnt that way

It killed me when I received my pre-ordered copy and had to sit for a month, holding it longingly, staring at the empty shelf on my entertainment unit where my 360 should have been if this 3rd console hadn't been sent back to MS because, rather then rrod, this one was scratching the hell out of my disks. I thoroughly enjoyed Halo 3 and finished it twice. It doesn't mean the game didn't have some issues (and Halo3 online was why I eventually downgraded from Gold to Silver on XBL). So many people think Halo 3 was the end all be all, and I'm just attempting to inject a little reality to the mix. I also think it's unfair to make Halo3/GTA sales comparisons considering GTA is multiplatform.

Umm, last time i checked, Halo 3 was only released on the 360, this prediction for GTA IV is said to be for PS3 AND Xbox 360.......I think its unfair to pick on Halo 3 and say GTA IV will beat it in terms of sales as we clearly know that GTA IV is a multiplatform game while Halo 3 is not .

If it came out on PC, I could so burn both of you, alas, I'll have to satisfy myself on the X360. To be honest, there are better games the Halo 3.

Take-Two should run those ads in theatres and during NBA/NHL play-offs. That will put them over the edge.

I own neither a PS3 nor a XBox 360. But I know that GTAIV is going to sell like Halo 3 or SSB:Brawl. Personally, I'm waiting for Mercenaries 2. Dont know why this game sells. It seems that people think its fun to play as a terribly animated character walking through blocky environments while trying to shoots the crappy animated enemies with the awful targeting system. And now people can suffer together over xbox live/ps3 online. Yup, going back to halo 3...

Look, I own both a PS3 and 360, so sorry if you took my comment about the PS3 having superior sound as a negative comment towards your console of choice. I choose to keep an open mind and in the current climate, an open wallet to all forms of gaming entertainment. I don't limit myself or my fun because of petty feuds between hardware developers and their supporters.

Good times =) See i'm not posting to get a thumbs up, I could really care less, if you haven't noticed already. I post because it's fun and it gives me a chance to express myself. For me, it would defeat the purpose of posting if I was to candy everything up in hopes for a +5 rating. But you guys have to understand, even though I'm a 360 fanboy, and I continually argue with the Sony boys (and may sound mean at times), at the end of the night we both go home, crack open a beer and play our favorite consoles and that's all that really matters.

re4leonkennedy what were you smoking when you said that a mediocre stealth game with an obscure story (MGS) and a sub par shooter with a crappy story (Gears Of War) will be game of the year over games like GTA 4, Ninja Gaiden 2, Unreal Tourny, Fallout 3 (hopefully this year), Fable 2 (another hopeful)? You definitly were under the influence.

the number 1 selling game of last generation (GTA SA) to become the number 1 selling game of this generation. It wouldn't suprise me if it sold 4 million copies in the first week.. in the US alone.

@ DMBdrunkass420. They can still make sports games, no one's stopping them from doing that. EA wisely signed a limited exclusivity contract with the NFL. That, to me, is no more insidious than MS locking in the rights to the Halo series. Would you argue that it's not fair that no one else can make Halo games? This is just good business.

I don't know if people are aware of this but we have a capitalistic, free-market economy, not one based on protectionism. Whatever goes, goes. If EA has the finances, and the ensuing acquisition wouldn't violate antitrust laws, they have every right to purchase Take-Two. Any investor who declines the offer of a 63% premium over the current share price is crazy. "Undervalued" my butt. The company has nothing else going for it. They are lucky EA is willing to pay that much, no one else will. It seems to me that the top brass, just like at Yahoo!, are trying to make a couple extra dollars with their stock options. Besides, EA would probably make the company more valuable anyway.

Yes, EA has monopolized the sports gaming industry, which is why many people have not started to boycott EA sports games. The only EA sports game I even think about buying is Tiger Woods and I didn't buy it the last 2 years. I'm done with NHL, NBA Live and Madden. I still have older sports games in the 2K series that I can play for years to come.
