Octogon announces Relic Hunter, based on the Tia Carrere TV show, for the Dreamcast and Game Boy Color.

Octogon Entertainment, in conjunction with Fireworks Entertainment, has announced that it will bring the TV show Relic Hunter to the Dreamcast, PC, and Game Boy Color platforms. The popular and very attractive Tia Carare, who plays Sydney Fox in the television program will also star in the game.

As for what to expect from the Relic Hunter software - so far, Octogon has stated that it will be a real-time 3D action-adventure title (the GBC version will not be 3D, for obvious reasons). You'll guide the lovely Sydney Fox through levels that span the globe as she fends off enemies with her martial arts skills. Along the way, you'll have to decipher ancient messages and solve puzzles and riddles. Sounds very Tomb Raider-esque.

"We chose Relic Hunter as the first television series for Octagon to bring into the interactive sector because of the show's overwhelming popularity, its dynamic lead character, and the natural extension of its premise to interactive games," according to Lloyd Melnick, agent at Octagon. "The developers working with Relic Hunter, Silmarils and Torus, have long track records of producing excellent games. They have extensive experience and have created many top titles."

Torus Games will develop the Game Boy Color title, which will be released in Q2 of 2000. The PC and Dreamcast version will be created by Silmarils and released in Q4 2000.
