Now Playing: Red Dead Redemption's Xbox One X Update Is Stunning

On Xbox One X, Red Dead Redemption runs at a higher resolution and features other visual improvements. This is done using the Heutchy Method--named after the Microsoft engineer who developed it--which "leverages the power of Xbox One X to let the Xbox 360 emulator present the very best version of the game possible with the existing assets--all without touching the game code."

Red Dead Redemption was not the only Xbox 360 game to get an Xbox One X update today. The other four are Gears of War 2, Portal 2, Darksiders, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

Read Dead Redemption 2 launches on October 28 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
