Rainbow Six Siege Is Having A Free To Play Weekend

The upcoming Rainbow Six Siege season is almost here, and you'll be able to play Ubisoft's tactical shooter for free all weekend on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Comments

If you've wanted to give Rainbow Six Siege a shot, then you'll have your chance soon enough. Ubisoft has announced a free weekend for its tactical shooter, giving you the opportunity to play all of the Rainbow Six Siege you could possibly want from June 11-14. This special weekend event grants every free player access to every map, mode, and legacy operator on PS4, Xbox One, or PC.

Of course, if you participate in the free weekend and decide to purchase Rainbow Six Siege, all of your progression and in-game content will carry over. All versions of the game will be discounted on all platforms, though if you're playing on PC, you'll get an additional 20% discount by buying the game through the Ubisoft Store.

Now Playing: Rainbow Six: Siege Review (2020)

The PS4 and Xbox One see slightly smaller discounts on their available editions. The base game is only available on PC, though I would recommend passing on it for any of the three special editions. It's only a couple dollars more for the Deluxe Edition, which gets you the full game with the first two years of DLC operators. The Gold Edition gets you everything introduced in Years 1 through 4, while the Ultimate Edition also comes with the Year 5 pass. It's unclear why the Deluxe Edition isn't discounted on the PS4, but we'll keep an eye on it just in case.

Rainbow Six Siege is in its fifth year of support and additional content. GameSpot's updated Rainbow Six Siege review went live in May, scoring it an essential 10/10. "Rainbow Six Siege has always been a game about making tactical decisions and dealing with their consequences, but with every new year of operators and changes, the options have been refined and increased to make for firefights that are as engaging as they are unpredictable," the review reads. "It rewards patience, persistence, and teamwork, and over the past four years, Siege has not only become Ubisoft's crown jewel of multiplayer action but also one of the best first-person shooters ever made."
