Ubi Soft Entertainment has today announced that Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield has gone gold, meaning that the game is finished and is now being prepared for retail.

The game, which has been developed by Red Storm Entertainment, is a squad-based tactical shooter in which players assume control of a number of elite special operatives going up against a terrorist foe. As they progress through the game, players will get to conduct missions in locales all over the world, including England, Norway, the Caribbean islands, and Rio de Janeiro.

"Rainbow Six fans are among the most rabid hard-core gamers on the planet, and they have high expectations for Rainbow Six 3," said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing at Ubi Soft. "Rainbow Six 3 will exceed even their highest hopes. They'll be playing as the same Team Rainbow, carrying out new missions in a graphically superior environment with an array of all-new special effects--including the flash-bang and gas grenades."

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield is scheduled for release on March 18. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the game.
