Quake III Arena Blasts Onto Dreamcast

Console fans and PC enthusiasts have often hotly debated the merits of their chosen systems, but now they can finally leave their words behind and come out shooting. With the release of Quake III Arena for the Sega Dreamcast, the two groups can settle this rivalry via SegaNet. The Dreamcast version gives players 30 arenas to fight in, 14 of which have been designed exclusively for the console. All the features of the PC smash are present, including capture the flag, deathmatch, and team deathmatch. The game can be played with either the normal Dreamcast controller or a Dreamcast keyboard and mouse combination.

Todd Hollenshead, CEO of id Software, said, "With the release of Quake III Arena for the Dreamcast, console gamers can now experience the same frenetic in-your-face gameplay of the legendary PC version. Look for Internet competition to heat up this fall as a new generation of fans joins the fray online."
