Sony's PlayStation Network Service is currently experiencing issues, with some users unable to login. PlayStation posted on its official Twitter account that it was investigating the issues.
PSN update: we are aware of the issues some users are experiencing, and are working to address them. We'll keep you updated.— PlayStation (@PlayStation) December 8, 2014
Prior to the announcement, hacker group Lizard Squad claimed that it had brought the service offline, tweeting "PSN Login #offline #LizardSquad"
Similarly, a few days ago the group claimed responsibility for bringing Microsoft's Xbox Live service to a halt on the Xbox 360.
