PSN gets MAG beta, Savage Moon PSP

I have been in the beta when it has been available the past couple months, and as a person that normally hates FPS since they are repitive, I have to say this has finally sold me. The graphics are decent (although most of us oldschool gamers don't really care about that), the response time is beyond excellent, and the maps and carnage are extremely nice. MAG doesn't take too many cheapshots by giving people ridiculous perks or "I WIN" abilities. You have your gun, your levels, and player skill. It won't be for everyone...but will be for people that love a challenging game in an unforgiving environment.

MAG have so many bugs that i can't play this game, u can't climb on objects, the way u have to climb the ladder sucks also, i got lvl 10 so i could play domination cause someone write its better then sabotage and it is little better but its a chaos on a map, i like the thing about the game that its big but somethimes i don't even know who shot me MW2 RULEZ

@Wapniak dude BC2's (online) (hVent played the single player)gameplay suckz, n omg i cant see the ppl n letters, they are so tiny lol n even by puttin the stick sensitivity at maximum idk its still so slow idk.. BC1 was way better /: but w.e my list of games 2 buy on 2010 is(can change): MAG, Lost Planet 2 (cant wait!!), n maybe God of War 3 (i dnt like alot single player games but its vry possible ill buy It lol)

what are u ppl blind, graphic is ok i got nothin to it but the gameplay SUCKS there can be like even 500 ppl playin at the same time but if the gameplay is like in this game i will stay with mw2 cause it is the best shooter now and its better to spend some money on bc2 then this ****

@Elfrancorifle I'm not necessarily saying the game sux just that my first experience with the game sucked. I like the concept of Team based missions but if everyone doesn't play as a team then the experience is lame. And that fact that someone from my team just camped behind the respawn point and killed me and everyone else over and over again until someone was able to get back to him and take him out gave me a bad first impression. Also the lack of people using headsets is lame as well.

first of all this game is sick..... for ppl that are sayin only 64 ppl..well get to lvl 10 and higher and u unlock other game modes that can support 256 ppl....and jus found out you can spend ur skill points for new guns...Raven pride

@efunk25 lol dude u suck i get like 48kills n like 19deaths n that was on domination (256players) i guess wat u played was sabotage(64players) lol dude if ur sayin u die a lot in sabotage well dnt enter domination XD but i gotta say this ive played with real a-holes in my team that cant kill -.- n start killin me or other team mates cuz we are killin or got alot of points... MAG is a great game. Do NOT judge based on graphics, this game is 256 players. Because of this, it cannot have graphics on par with cod or Crysis. Once you get into the swing of things, this game is perhaps the most satisfying team-based experience I have played on consoles. It gives you reason to play for your specific team and is pure enjoyment to work together.

I really dont get why people are saying this sucks i've not had a bad game on it yet, no spawnkilling by teammates no lag and for a console shooter it plays really nicely. I'm still a fan of BF2 on pc and don't think any console shooter has lived up to the gameplay of that yet including MW2 but MAG is a decent attempt of a BF2 style game on console that does what it sets out to do

This game sux! I wasted a night of gaming to download this beta only to spend all night last night getting killed over and over again at the respawn point by my own players. I can see this being somewhat fun if the people playing actually make a effort to complete objectives but everyone seems to just want to run and gun like COD and this game doesn't work like that.

if they just fix the animations and make it so you can climb up some stuff that should be climbable and get rid of some of the annoying invisible walls in the middle of the levels and so on and make lobbies maybe for people will ing to communicate... or something... I dont know, they need to make the gameplay good enough to sacrifice the intense visual and audible detail of BFBC2 and MW2 which is definitely better. Before playing the beta I was thinking "well I do prefer better gameplay over better visuals" but at this point it seems that it doesnt have better of either. Just bigger maps and player count. I can go and buy BFBC2 when it comes out and have big maps and lots of players that respawn enough to make it seem like the whole place is packed so umm... give me somethin here Zipper! oh and on a positive note, i thought the visuals were better when I played than what I percieved from veiwing vids online... and there was relatively no lag.. that was nice..

Oh n it surprised me :O no LAG!!! Omg ok i got lag but it lasted like 1 sec n got another 1 like 30mins later of the same amount of time :D so i got 8 hours of gameplay im at lv 25 so lag is no prob in this game :) well thats me idk u ppl lol

the game is cool, Idk wats the prob with u guyz but yea i got the lost connection thing but not as much as u guyz said /: n i got 512kb of internet n i imagine u got like 5mb so thats a ***** lot!! lol n the gameplay reminds me of BC2 (beta) but better :) S.V.E.R. pride :D Orange Blood!!! lmao

i agree the beta suck the only thing good about it is that there can play 64 players at once and there's no lag but the gameplay sucks really bad, cod and bc are much better

the beta is pretty awesome only had a few 64 player games so far havent found a 256 game but really cant complain best console shooter ive played in a long time

I dont have an xbox, but i admit a ton of you exclusives are awesome. 256 players, no lag, doesnt sound awesome? ____ No lag....? I lag in 8-player games that have dedicated servers, there is no such thing. Huge battlefields with a moderate number- 16-24 or more players on dedicated is about the same as a small map with: 16 or less players on P2p.

I can not play the training mission. Can someone explain how to activate it or do I have redownload the beta? Also when do you pick what class of soldier you are and can you change your class? Someone please pm me with the answer. Thanks

connection seems to have improved abit since launch, my only problem is communication, i haven't a clue where the player is who's shouting or calling for backup

Yea. I had it not want to connect at all to any of the networks (Valor, Raven, or S.V.E.R) for a little while and then an hour later no problems at all. But yes @kargion it did say it might be under maintinance and of course during beta testing times it is subect to that at odd moments. Still it wasn't long before it got up and working again so I don't have a problem with it. And does anyone think that the game needs a seperate grenade button where you can cycle through just grenades and throw them were the hairline of your gun is aiming? You go down so fast of course that it's a hassle to want to throw a grenade and put away your main gun even though you can get an enemy that's around a corner or behind something.

Apart from the connection issues, i'm loving the beta

Um why are you guys all pissed off the beta is down, they are having server issues its why its called A BETA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Down times and unexpected down times and connection issues are expected. Is this the first time you guys have ever been in an open beta? Lord guys, give them time to fix it. I'm glad they are finding these problems now rather than on game launch day.

Having played the MAG beta well its a alright game. Having earned experiance you use it to purchase skills as it were. So say you like being a medic you can unlock abilities to heal others as well as yourself and finally bring wounded soldiers back into the fight. Be it you like your assault rifle you invest skill points in customizing it like giving a pistol grip or tactical sight. Movement is not really that bad it doesn't feel blocky like most FPS but its not quite like MW2 ether. I just hope their is more maps in the final release. Oh and a final note you need a good team I have entered a few games where allies were shooting each other in the back rather then the enemy.

and another thing i thought we was supposed to have 256 players on the same battlefield without being blocked off

im playing the open beta now and i must say i was expecting more, the graphics aint that good, and the way your characters move makes me laugh it seem a bit dated.. ill still play it though

@ ohjtbehaaave well FPS suits this game much better than TPS would have and I like them both and only about 2 hours and 30mins left until it starts

i feel as though fps are dieing, i just want killzone 3 and resistance 3 and then im done with them forever

@ whoever responded to me : The game does have 256 players, you just don't get to play with all of them at the same time. Think of it as 5 call of duty mw2 maps combined, but blocked off from one another where everyone fights.

you mean MAG or mass effect 2? Well it depends, i have both systems and i love the first mass effect, at first i didnt like it, but i recently had time to play it more this winter break and its really fun. Even though i did not beat it, it was really fun so far and the story is excellent. MAG is a completly different type of game that i also want. Its a shooter, think Call of duty.. times 5. BUT idk, if i were you i would get both... but if i had to choose i would choose Mass effect only because Bioware is known to be excellent in all their games, i mean look at dragon age, that was a great game. MAG is made by the people that made socom, also another great game. BASICALLY get both cause its a hard decision lol.

Should I get this or Mass Effect 2. And dont say one or the other cause its an exclusive

This is actually the game that finally set my eyes on the PS3. I have held a strong hatred towards the Playstation since the first one came out. But, now I proudly have the PS3 in my house, waiting for this game, as well as all of the amazing others coming!

this game looks great! if your really into online you should totally get it! and yea Graphic Wise it looks better than MW2. you dont need to compare this to killzone2. KZ2 is famous on graphics and Mag is famous for the biggest number of online player a game can achieve

@SalFlame: Thats how alot of people are, I know a couple Xbox users who have bought a PS3 because of the lack of 360 software. If you get one, make sure to add me! As far as 360 games next year, there is Mass Effect 2, but thats all I have heard of yet (besides crack down 2, which looks retarded, IMO). Next year is looking good for the PS3 as well, with Heavy Rain on its way.

i say we should support innovation such as this. a game with 256 individual players is an incredible feat. sure its not the mona lisa of games on a graphics scale, but if we don't allow a game like this a fair chance, we will be stuck with boring games that are copies of one another (COD6)

@ PS3burritoman yes they can make changes to the game play though patches and the beta is for anyone in the world

@sanozsuke I've downloaded the MAG client and did the update. I live just outside Toronto Ontario, Canada so I'm doubting it's US only.
