PSA: Multiplayer for Batman: Arkham Origins Shutting Down Soon

Batman: Arkham Origins will lose support for its online services soon. A post from Warner Bros. in the game's forums confirms that all online services for the 2013 game will come to an end on December 4.

"We thank those that have joined us to battle over the last three years," the developer said (via Eurogamer). Arkham Origins' single-player campaign is unaffected, as it can be played offline.

Arkham Origins was developed by WB Montreal for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Another version of the game, Blackgate, was also released, for consoles, PC, and portable systems.

Arkham Origins was not featured in last month's Return to Arkham bundle, which featured remastered versions of the Rocksteady-developed games, including Arkham Asylum and Arkham City.

WB Games Montreal does not have any announced games for the future, but it was discovered last summer that the studio is hiring for an open-world game that could be a new IP.

In October 2013, the local government announced an investment of $1.5 million into WB Montreal, allowing it to expand the studio in terms of headcount and technology. The initial $1.5 million grant was part of a larger $63 million initiative promised to WB Games Montreal for the company to add 100 jobs and buy new equipment by 2018.
