LMAO!! Wow! Amazing. First of, I'm British. Second, I didn't buy the PS3. The thought of Sony kicking me in the balls then coming months later asking for a hand shake and twice the money Americans paid is simply an insult. Let's face facts - Sony always knew they'd conqure Europe. Didn't they do it with the PSP? They held that one months long after it was released everywhere before letting it out in Europe. Everyone in the U.K were shouting and moaning and saying $h-t like, "Sony is rubbish! blah blah blah!" When it came out, it sold like fire. The same people talking crap were they same people who bought it! Every company out there to make money knows they can milk Europe. All they have to do is make it a good enough product that hits well in America, and Europeans will buy it, whether or not "Europeans are idiots" is printed on the label. Man ... please ... don't get me started. The PS3 wouldn't sell 1 million units in America if Sony treated that region the way they treated Europe. Finito. Nuff said.

Im glad to see some positive news in a seemingly endless sea of bad rep and hostility towards the PS3. Though it may be 600 dollars, when I search on the internet, I see more people disgruntled with their purchase of the cheapest console rather than the most expensive one... Once games on the PS3 start looking outstanding to the public, I believe that the PS3 sales will start to rise and the Wii will decline. Today it just seems that even when you can have wireless fun, amazing graphics appeal to more people...

the PS2 is the best selling cosole hopefully PS3 will be as sucessful (PS2 115million units double of what the XBOX 24 million and GC 21 million PS2 sold more than XBOX and GC put together doubled!!!) :D

well its been tough for microsofts game divison they havent had a profitable quarter at all eversince the xbox 360 launched so there divison would be hurting but microsoft has an infinte pit of money

Impressive. Nice to still see the Playstation in the news (for something positive for once). I was flicking back in some old PS2 mags when the PS2 was first released and back then Sony had similar trouble to what the PS3 has today. Crap advertising, biased negative opinions from competition, crap release titles and unimpressive sales in the first few days of sale. After these last 10 weeks, they have turned this around by providing their customers and potential customers with juicy new projects from SCEE and updates. Now, I can access my PS3 from my PSP and view my music, pictures and movies. With Xbox fan boys yammering on about how the PS3 will fail because of Blueray and that it wil fail becaus eof poor blue ray film sales, they just can't admit that the technology from Blue Ray (in the form of games) is more advanced than anything accessible on the Xbox. Sure, Gears of War is the best game ever and Dead Rising is quality, but aren't they on the same technolgy the first Xbox used? Hmm... DVD-Roms are sooo Game 2.0 and Xbox live hasn't really changed either. But still, it is a bit late for that Million mark isn't it Sony???

It's been a rough time for Sony lately. About time they got some good news. It's nice to see Stringer acknowledge that things didn't go swimmingly in Japan, rather than try to spin it in to some kind of victory. Acknowledge your mistakes, make an effort to learn from them, and you won't repeat them.

I'm honestly surprised at this news. Not that I think PS3 isn't a great system it is ... but there are really no games for it. But then again .. look at the Wii and how well that is doing. o_O

Here in the UK if someone buys something, everyone's gotta buy it. And also, as far as I remember most consoles sell out, PS3 didn't due to large stock, so there's plenty of them to buy. With other launches the supply doesn't meet demand and they can't sell much in the first 10 weeks or so.

ender... it's 1 million in 10 weeks... or did you forget that the PS3 launched in Europe in March? 2.5 months... and this is just the PAL region, not worldwide.

I doubt 360 did as well in its first 10 weeks in any territory. PS3 is behind, but they got a few wildcards going for them so they are not out of the game - if blue ray wins, its a boon, if great content starts to come out and not crappy 360 ports, its a boon. In international markets, PS3 is doing better than 360 and its these systems that will have a long life span given their technology, not the Wii, especially when 360 and ps3 prices start falling in line to a $299 price point.

Congrats to Sony. Its good to see the PS3 doing well in Europe. Sony seems really committed to making the PS3 a success. The games are getting closer, Blu-ray is dominating the HD scene and the system itself just keeps getting better and better with the free updates.

BigBoi_24 At least PS3 deserves to be doing good. I bought the Wii and I have to say as a gamer who loves all types of games of quality, the Wii is the worst system i have ever had. I regret my choice every day. And to think I used to l used to love Nintendo. I warn all of you, DO NOT GET THE WII!!! It is very fun at first, I will admit that, but it is not good. The quality of the games are HORRIBLE. Bad gameplay, horrible graphics, mediocre storyline(only zelda had acceptable story), and horrible selection of games. BigBoi_24: That's why I don't have a wii. Always wait for good software before you buy a gaming console. PS3 currently appears to suffer from the same problem. I'll consider buying a wii after Smash is launched, and a PS3 after Little Big planet (though it will need a couple other cool titles unless it has a massive price drop). But I've never seen the point of buying a game console on the anticipation of good games.

add another ps3 sale next week, im taking my firetrap 360 back be4 it burns my house down.and adding the 200 bucks to get a ps3

PAL regieons are more then just Britian as well...so really when you consider the fact that 40% are sitting in warehouses and divide the rest up among ALL PAL regions it's not good news. Just good marketing spin.
