Level 5 has revealed that Professor Layton and the New World of Steam will launch in 2025 for Nintendo Switch. The company has released an updated trailer featuring its gameplay and mechanic.

The game takes place in Steam Bison and is set one year after the events of the 2008 entry, Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. Steam Bison is filled with highly advanced steam engine technology that surpasses even London's, and a mysterious incident causes Professor Layton and his apprentice, Luke, to go on a new journey.

Now Playing: Professor Layton and the New World of Steam – Official Release Window Gameplay Trailer

In the trailer, Luke and Professor Layton are trying to solve a puzzle involving a huge building with numerous doors. The doors have various window shapes and card suites on them, and the two are espousing monologue while going through their thought processes on solving which door to go through.

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam is the first mainline game since 2017's Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy for Nintendo 3DS. The game was announced earlier this year during a Nintendo Direct.

Additionally, Level 5 announced that its other games, including Megaton Musashi: Wired, Fantasy Life i: The Girl who Steals Time, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road, and Decapolice have been delayed to 2024.
