Prepare For Final Fantasy VII Rebirth With New Official Recap Video

Red XIII narrates the story so far.

Comments

Ahead of the game's February 2024 release date, Square Enix has put out a story recap video for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth explaining all the events leading up to highly anticipated sequel.

The video focuses more or less entirely on the events of Final Fantasy VII Remake. The video is narrated by Red XIII and is a fairly straightforward point summary of Remake. For example, it doesn't bring in any of the narrative from Final Fantasy VII Compilation games like Crisis Core or Dirge of Cerberus, which have proven to be surprisingly relevant to the remake's trilogy's overall plot. Still, as a starting point, it will help you hop into Rebirth without any prior experience or get a quick refresher on where the last game left off. The video will be featured in the game's full release.

The Rebirth team has teased potential changes coming to Rebirth's narrative, which they claim with lead up to the Forgotten Capital section of the original game. The game is also set to have over 100 hours of content, including numerous side quests, minigames, and hidden locations to explore. Some of these activities were shown off at TGS, where footage debuted of Cocobo farms, piano playing, and a card game called Queen's Blood.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will launch exclusively on PS5 on February 29, 2024. The exclusivity window will last three months, but it's currently unknown if or when other versions will be released.
