TOKYO--According to CoroCoro Comic magazine, Nintendo will release a new Pokémon game on the Game Boy Advance in Japan titled Pokémon Emerald. In the game, the player is once again up against the diabolical plans of Team Aqua and Team Magma, the villains who appeared in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Appropriate for the title of the game, the hero and heroine from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire will return in Emerald with green-oriented costumes. The game's packaging also features the green Pokémon Rayquaza on its front.

There will be a few minor changes and additions to the battles in Pokémon Emerald. Although it won't affect the actual gameplay, the Pokémon in Emerald will animate in the battle screen prior to each match. Trainer battles will be a little bit different, however; in this game, the trainers will team up to fight against the player. Pokémon Emerald will also feature a new Fighting Theme Park named Battle Frontier, where the player can enter seven different battle games, including a tournament that only allows the use of three Pokémon.

Pokémon Emerald is slated for release on September 16 at the retail price of 4,800 yen ($44). The game will be compliant with Nintendo's Wireless GBA Adapter.
