Pokemon X/Y sells 4 million in two days
Latest pair of games in Nintendo's iconic RPG series the fastest-selling Nintendo 3DS games to date, Nintendo says.
3DS games Pokemon X & Y together sold more than 4 million copies across the world on October 12 and October 13, Nintendo announced today. This makes the pair of titles the fastest-selling Nintendo 3DS games of all time, according to the company.
The latest set of titles in Nintendo's iconic role-playing game series was the first Pokemon release to launch across the world simultaneously, meaning there is no exact historical sales comparison to be made.
However, Nintendo said that when "combining and comparing regional data for previous launches," Pokemon X & Y are tracking ahead of Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2 by more than 70 percent.
Nintendo has now sold more than 245 million Pokemon games worldwide to date, calling the franchise one of the "strongest brands in the history of video games." The company also released a sales chart detailing some of the best-selling Pokemon games to date.
Pokemon Diamond & Pearl - 17.63 million copies
Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire - 16.22 million copies
Pokemon Black & White - 15.42 million copies
Pokemon HeartGold & SoulSilver - 12.67 million copies
Pokemon FireRed & LeafGreen - 12 million copies
