Pokemon TCG Celebrations Collection: Check Out Some Of The New Cards

To commemorate 25 years of the Pokemon Trading Card Game, The Pokemon Company is releasing a specially themed expansion tomorrow that will likely stir up some nostalgia for longtime players and collectors. Pokemon Celebrations features 25 remakes of beloved card designs, including the original version of Charizard. If you're lucky, you'll also score some neat finds in booster packs, such as the Pikachu Birthday Surprise card that we unwrapped. Pokemon Celebrations products will be available on store shelves and online starting tomorrow, October 8.

There are numerous different Pokemon Celebrations products, each of which comes with a variety of Celebrations booster packs and Sword and Shield expansion packs in some cases. It's important to note that Celebrations edition boosters only contain four cards, whereas you'll get the standard 10 with Sword and Shield packs.

Leading the charge for the Celebrations collection is the Elite Trainer Box for $50. It comes with everything you need to get started with the expansion, including 10 Celebrations booster packs, five Sword and Shield boosters, and a Greninja foil card. You also get 65 anniversary-themed card sleeves, 45 energy cards, a rulebook, one six-sided die, and a coin-flip die.

You can also purchase four themed collections, including Pikachu V-Union ($30), Dragapult Prime ($15), Lance's Charizard V ($20), and Dark Sylveon V. ($20) Each collection comes with a foil promo card, oversized card, four Celebrations booster packs, and additional Sword and Shield boosters.

Later this month, more products will be added to the collection. The Celebrations Pikachu V-Max Figure Collection ($50) comes with an appropriately plump Gigantamax Pikachu figure as well as two foil cards, eight Celebrations booster packs, and three Sword and Shield expansion packs.

Meanwhile, the Celebrations Collector Chest ($25) is a lunch pail-style tin filled with goodies: six Celebrations boosters, a pair of Sword and Shield boosters, a trio of foil promo cards, sticker sheets, a mini portfolio, and more.

And if you feel like splurging, the Ultra Premium Collection will be available for $120 on October 22. It comes with the following products:

  • 17 Celebrations booster packs
  • 8 Sword and Shield booster packs
  • Two commemorative metal cards
  • Special gold Pikachu V
  • Special gold Poke Ball
  • Charizard and Pikachu enamel pin
