Pokemon Quest iOS, Android Release Date Announced
Coming to your phone soon.
Pokemon spin-off game Pokemon Quest now has a mobile release date. The "free-to-start" action-RPG originally launched on Nintendo Switch on May 30, the same day it was announced, with the promise of a mobile release down the line. It will release on iOS and Android on June 27.
In Pokemon Quest, you build parties of three Pokemon to take on mostly automated missions where they fight other Pokemon and collect resources. You then use the loot to attract more Pokemon to your base camp, where you can befriend them, power them up, and swap them into your team. On Switch, the game utilizes touchscreen controls, which means it should play very similarly on mobile. However, data from one version does not transfer to the other.
Pokemon Quest features a blocky art style and includes only first-generation Pokemon. It is the first Pokemon spin-off made by main series developer Game Freak. According to the game's official site, pre-registration is now available, though there are currently no details about how that works.
In other Pokemon news, Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Let's Go Eevee were recently announced. Those games, which are based on Pokemon Yellow and are compatible with Pokemon Go, are launching in November. We recently had a chance to play Let's Go Pikachu at E3 2018; for all the details, see our roundup of everything we know about Let's Go so far.
